A city girl from some medium-tech shadow, Galina was tall, blonde, blue-eyed and beautiful. She spoke with a Russian accent and was interested in ornithology. She came to Amber when she became disenchanted with being Benedict's camp follower. She enjoyed the noble lifestyle, and tried to remain true to Benedict, but Corwin forced her into his bed, and eventually, mentally unstable and feeling she had no other way out, she committed suicide.
She is buried in a tomb overlooking one of her favorite birdwatching locations on Kolvir, overlooking the sea. It is tasteful and understated, built in Gothic (as in cathedrals) style with a vague Russian feel and lots of vaulting. It is divided into three sections. First is a seven by seven metre square open area, with steps across the whole width of the front, carved railings along the sides with stone benches along and just inside them, and a statue of Galina (in a robe, happy, with a bird alighting on her outstretched hand), by Jynx, in the centre. Behind this is a five by five metre square chapel of remembrance, open to the outside and going back into the hillside. Towards the rear stands a second statue of Galina, again by Jynx. This one is sadder looking, and glances back over her shoulder. Behind this is an archway to the tomb proper, which is entirely underground, and is a two and a half metre long by three metre wide room with Galina's sarcophagus placed at the rear, perpendicular to the door. Benedict has a Trump of the tomb, from Jynx. Arkady has arranged that the tomb be kept maintained.
