Zephyr is a voidworm, a rare cat-sized chaos creature, sometimes kept as a pet by nobles of Chaos. Although they can be found in the wild, they imprint on a parent or an owner in the egg, and are then permanently bonded to them. They are tough, very long lived (no-one really knows how long they live for) and highly resistant to hostile environments. They can eat practically anything, and can be taught to reshape themselves into any number of forms. Zephyr was given to Benvolio by his mother when he only a few years old, and he raised it from an egg, so that by now it is almost a part of him and rarely leaves him for long.
Zephyr knows a fairly wide selection of forms, taught to it by Benvolio.
These currently include : a golden European-type dragon, a cat, a winged cat, a fish, a squid, a seagull, a small four-armed bat-winged tailed demonic creature, a tiny version of Benvolio, a briefcase, a sword, a crossbow, a truncheon, a staff, a spear, a jacket, a red stuffed toy demon, a long thin snake, a beachball, a cushion, a lockpick-glove, a scalpel/medical treatment glove, a tiny version of Ben, a teddy bear, a winged cat and various household items. The glove forms have tools, lockpicking gizmos etc. on jointed arms attached to the back of the hand which lock onto the fingertips for use; Zephyr moves them into and out of position at Benvolio's command.
