CHAMELEON, MALYARIN'S WEAPON

Chameleon (as Malyarin called it) was found with him by his parents. Originally thought to be just a ring, shortly after his parents gave it back to him, at the age of twelve, Malyarin found that he could make it shift into a number of other forms (mostly weapons), taking a few seconds for each change. He also found that Chameleon was capable of somehow moving under its own power at his command. When he is touching Chameleon he can cause it to change shape and move merely by thinking at it. If he is separated from it, but within voice range, he can cause Chameleon to move and change shape by speaking code words to it (code words are used in order to avoid others imitating his voice and so controlling Chameleon). These code words can be changed by concentrating on them while wearing the ring form. All the forms are very beautiful and obviously made by a master craftsman.

Chameleon's forms are :

The Ring.

This is a gold band in the shape of a long thin chameleon-like lizard swallowing its own tail. It has eyes made out of tiny emeralds and is detailed down to the level of the individual scales on the lizard. It becomes an ear-ring when Malyarin goes into his Avatar form. In size it is slightly too small to be removed from Malyarin's middle finger without his or its shapechanging.

The Bird.

This is a starling sized and shaped metal bird of gold and black metal with bright blue sapphire eyes. It is detailed down to the level of the lines on individual feathers and is capable of flight and most other normal bird-type movements under Malyarin's command. It is capable of carrying several kilograms while flying.

The Weapons.

These are all constructed in a similar way regardless of the actual differences in shape etc. between them. All metal parts are formed of a strange metal which is tiger-striped in silver and gold. Along the centre they are engraved with small, incredibly detailed images of animals, forests and hunting scenes (each weapon has different images). Any wooden parts of the weapons are made of a strange, almost metallic, dark-gold wood. Hilts and the like are of gold and black metal with emerald and sapphire pommels and decoration. The hilts are engraved in the same manner as the blades.
