A tall, striking and handsome man, with slightly severe features; he gives the impression of middle age. He has a mellifluous voice, pale blue-white skin. His eyes have silver pupils but otherwise seem normal. A pair of backward-curving un-branched pointed horns go back from his upper forehead. He has long flowing wavy steel-blue-grey hair.
He dresses in loose, flowing garments of royal blue and black with silver trim.
A non-human creature, apparently built by Family Romalek as a bodyguard. It refers to itself as 'it' It appears to be as real as any Amberite or Chaosite, with a feeling about it like Beltaine's soulstones.
It is a lithe, strangely attractive androgynous feline humanoid, with smooth gold-grey plastic-like skin and solid black eyes. It has a prehensile tail, digitigrade feet, fangs, pointed ears, retractable claws on fingers and toes and 'hair' which is actually a mass of backward-pointing quills.
It wears a dark grey body-suit under a pale gold robe, and is usually armed with two swords and assorted other weaponry, as necessary.
It is calm, watchful, discreet, loyal and quiet. It will talk if spoken to, politely, but rarely initiates conversation. It will not talk about itself in any detail.
A man who arrived in Amber with Morred Telgadi. He is tall and willowy with long golden hair in a widows peak at the front and a ponytail at the back. His eyes are bright green. He has long elegant fingers and a quiet demeanour. He resembles both Brand and Beltaine and dresses elegantly, usually in deep green and black.
His mother is Xanthippe, a lady of the Royal House of Chaos with whom Brand dallied during his time in the Courts. As far as Evander is aware, Brand never knew he existed. He was raised as a young noble of Chaos in a similar fashion to Merlin, though without his royal aspirations. As with Merlin he knows little of the Courts outside the realm in which he was raised.

He is a shapeshifter and a sorcerer, seeing magic as lines of force.
He has walked the Pattern (soon after coming to Amber) and swore loyalty to Random.
According to a Trump reading done by Tristan, Evander is not, in fact, Brand's son, but more related to Benedict. Evander was not able to shed any light on this.
When Beltaine first saw Evander in a Tir Na'Nogth vision (although he was named Telemachus in the vision) she saw another ghostly figure hovering about him:

When asked about it, he said that this was a form he used in Chaos.
However, the course of events showed that Evander never really existed as a person. He was a 'mask', a false personality created by the three members of the Council for Victory to be 'worn' by them so that they might more readily move and act in Amber, and also to allow them all to walk the Pattern without arousing suspicion.
Evander ended up being forced upon a luckless Amber Castle guard named Randor, and although Randor was eventually recovered by Fiona, Evander was, allegedly, destroyed in the process.

In reality Aximia was an oriental girl of about eleven; short, slim and pretty with a page-boy cut of straight black hair and solid gold-flecked malachite green eyes. She dressed in gold-embroidered malachite green and black (that is, she was the person Evander described as his cousin). She was also a Souleater, in possession of a unique and powerful Chaos ability.

Her eyes had golden vertical cat-like slitted pupils and she wore red and black (that is, she was the person Evander described as his mother).
