A place called Vitesse

Comfortable. I have never so needed rest. And Terminus Est and my spells require maintenance. I had not anticipated the drain of this 'shadow-shifting'

We go. I leave the assistant behind to compile a report on the place.

And meet a dragon.

Who turns out to be yet another cousin. What a large family I am acquiring. One can only hope they will not turn out to be as much of a disappointment as the last one. Although this one seems to be an idiot. Sadly. I wonder how I shall bear this one.

A place in a desert

We arrive in a desert. Caitlin seems to like it here.

Gates, Gates, Gates.

I'm sure I have the secret now.

Precursor Alexiun tells me the armies are mobilising, In three days they will be ready. And shortly after, I will have to find a use for them, one way or another. And I should be more careful in contacting him - it seems to arouse suspicion in my cousins. I sense a great distrust.

Hard, too, to contact him. Very hard.

I should give SkyDoom the power of invisibility.

I am carrying a hamster. My cousin, Arun, who was a dragon. He's mad. Barking. Absolutely barking. These people will never threaten me.

Etienne seems interested in the assistant.

But not interested enough to try one.

I wonder why.

There is that distrust again.

I should empower something with the Coruscant Shaft as well. So much to do.

At last they show me Trumps of the people we seek. I wonder if it is possible to create a sorcerous device to use the power of Trump to search for them.

I should make masks of these cousins.

And find a way to watch them.

These shadow sheep at least have the right attitude to dealing with their enemies. Their extermination of what they have overthrown is admirable. They seem to treat our arrival well. Either way, they will provide a pleasant diversion, I think. My cousins seem disgusted. I wonder at them.

Another place in the same desert. I think.

Shadow-shifting is most troublesome for the assistant. I should produce a more permanent one. Does this place offer anything of value.

Urgh! Sheep! Initiative of a SLUG! OR WORSE!

For all he's an idiot, Arun's power is... impressive. And Etienne's manipulation of the weather - also an impressive demonstration - to the ignorant, at least. Perhaps she has an understanding after all.

I should research a spell to control the weather. Or a device.

Ah, they begin to act as their power entitles them. Begin. It is a start, I suppose. Ad, then, perhaps I should not encourage them.

Up. Into the caverns of god's gaping yawn...

What is this obsession with gods?

There are worse crimes than mere extinction.

Ach - the urge to kill these sheep burns!

I should resist - I should.

Too late.

But still, I should.

And now I've seen Caitlin strike. Fast. Faster. Fast is not the word for it. Faster than I am. By far too much. Jihx, too, may be faster than I. I think. A concerning development.

Arun, the optimist.

A pitiful fight. Pitiful. I was wrong about these sheep.

Damn. There we go again. Bloody Unsane grenade needs retrieving again. I have to produce a more controllable one.

Jihx and Arun demonstrate their appalling lack of intelligence.

What's the point of killing the one sheep who knew anything.

Well, he's beyond me now.

But the priests may know where.

A cave?

A voice?

The Unsane grenade is no more. Perhaps for the best.

But still... I feel it's loss.

I wonder who did it? One of these shadow sheep?

Etienne hides her sorcerous items within a Trump. Cunning.

An idea I should follow.

And one I should learn to thwart, for it is, too, a weakness.

They have seen the cloak now. Caitlin isn't fooled, nor Etienne, I think. But the others? Perhaps so. Perhaps so.

Ha! Not thwarted after all! And after a day, already I command them... but that would be a foolish assumption. I have shown it can be done, that is all. Together they are so vast in their power. But they move at random. Chance and co-incidence bring them together. And chance and co-incidence can be manipulated. And we of the pattern, we are quite the masters of that.

The next Unsane will be more intelligent.

And I shall be wiser in it's use.
