Character Creation Rules
- Characters are built on 250 points, with no points from disadvantages. Instead, characters have a Virtue, a Flaw, a Secret and Goal (a system inspired by that used in the Everway game) which covers the same ground as disadvantages in (hopefully) a much simpler and more flexible (and faster!) way.
- Multipowers use the real points cost of the power, rather than the active cost, when determining the size of the Multipower pool.
- Powers not usually allowed in power frameworks may be allowed with sufficient justification.
- Growth and Density Increase do not exist as seperate powers. Instead, they are just special effects of increased Strength, with appropriate other powers (such as Knockback Resistance and, for Growth, Stretching) brought with them, and a number of associated Disadvantages (bought as Side Effects), such as Very Heavy, or Very Large.
- Characters have maximums or limits as follows :
- 10 Damage Classes.
- 25 points of Resistant Physical or Energy defences.
- Maximum Dexterity of 26.
- Maximum OCV and/or DCV of 10.
- Maximum Speed of 5.
- No telepathy which can read deeper than the 'Surface Thoughts' level, a -1 disadvantage (to preserve the plot).
- Mind Control can be used to force people to speak the truth as they know it.
- Mental Illusions is increased in cost to 10 points per d6, in order to stop it being quite as unbalanced as it can be. This was later changed to 8 points per d6, as the number of dice which could be bought at 10 points each was so low as to make the power almost useless.
- All special/unique equipment normally carried by a character must be paid for with points. However, mundane equipment can be carried for free.
- Perks do not cost character points, they are simply written in to the character background.
- A character's abilities can go up with experience as follows:
- +1 Damage Class per 25 experience points up to 300 points in total, then +1 Damage Class per 50 experience points.
- +1 point of Resistant Physical and Energy defences per 10 experience points up to 300 points in total, then +1 point of Resistant Physical and Energy defences per 20 experience points.
- +3 Dexterity or +1 OCV/DCV per 25 experience points up to 300 points in total, then +3 Dexterity or +1 OCV/DCV per 50 experience points.
- +1 Speed per 50 Experience Points.
