Session 2.7   Index   Session 2.9

Blitz carries the archer (real name the Rainbow Archer) off to STOP HQ. She wakes up on the way there and convinces Blitz to let her go, by claiming she is harmless in comparison to Avenger. She appears completely gobsmacked when Blitz actually lets her go, and gives him a business card so he can contact her if he ever needs a favour. Blitz gives her back her bow and flies back to the warehouse.

Back in the basement of the warehouse Truth tries mind controlling the Viper agent again to find out where the cases are to be delivered to, with the aid of John Doe terrorising him, the agent soon gives in. He tells them that the cases were to left in a tunnel under Carmelite Street, there is a hidden room.

Meanwhile upstairs the police and STOP arrive, Aggro has been subdued and Servo has healed all the injured STOP agents. Servo tells the STOP agents what happened, including the fact that there is an unconscious looney in need of care on the roof over there. He also asks to borrow some of the STOP techno-cuffs to copy. They politely refuse, and say he'll have to ask someone higher up in STOP. The group also hand the mad tramp over to STOP for care.

Blitz arrives. Everyone assembles in the tunnel to decide what to do next. It is decided to go and deliver one of the cases, John Doe takes the bonds out of the cases and collects them with the Brigadier (who is regenerating his arm) and the other Viper agents and takes then up to the police.

John Doe transforms into the Brigadier and carries one case, filled with John Doe's dead skin and a few real bonds, he jogs off down the tunnel. The others follow, Avenger manages to un-jam his gun. John Doe quickly reaches the area described by the Viper agent, he finds the concealed door, behind he finds a damp concrete room with a folding table and small fluorescent lamp, there is also a rusty submarine style door with a locking wheel.

Truth passes through the wall and finds a small tunnel behind the rusty door. She follows the tunnel. Truth finds a Viper base with barracks and laboratories. The walls on one side of the rooms are curved. In one laboratory she finds a large tank full of some chemicals and containing a man suspended in it, she enters the tank but the top and bottom start to glow so she makes a hasty exit. Unfortunately some Viper agents see her as she goes into a corridor, and she is shot at. One of the agents has one of the strange new guns , a shot misses Truth by inches and she actually feels it (very worrying). In another lab she finds a man strapped to a surgical table, Truth recognises him as a homeless man called Billy. He seems to be dead. Truth is now being pursued by lots of Viper agents so makes her way back to the others.

John Doe spots a small security camera so decides to go out and come back in as another agent with a case, he transforms into both case and agent. He then uses a very small link between the case and the man, so the man can leave (then dissolve outside the door) and then the rest of his body can ooze back via the link into the case.

Truth arrives back and tells the others about the base, Servo asks her to go and contact STOP. She goes up to the surface and phones STOP , she tells them about the base and the laboratories. They say they will send reinforcements, she says she will meet them in about ten minutes. They phone Truth back just before she desolidifies and tell her that from the maps, it appears that Viper are using the old Northern line tunnels under the Thames as a base. Truth then returns to the others below ground.

Truth reports back to the others and it is decided to attack the base. Everyone marches through the concealed room and goes through the door into the tunnel, John Doe runs after them as a case with legs.

Just as the first agents come into view a voice is heard behind us, it is Naomi "If you go in there, you will end the world", "some sort of plague will be released that wipes out almost the entire population", she then appears to be slashed and stabbed (there is no blood), she reaches out to us all. Everyone goes to her and as the last of us touch her we all feel a twisting sensation and we are pulled out of our time zone and into Naomi's. We all see flickering images of London, then London on fire, then the city has virtually gone with vegetation everywhere, and a huge crater full of water. Then the twisting sensation is reversed and we arrive in a room, Naomi lies on the floor bleeding, and three people stand in front of us. They are all dressed in rough black uniform-type clothes, the first man has flaming pits for eyes (and holds a blood stained knife), the second man is insect-like with carapaceous skin, horns and large mandibles and the third a woman who is semi-transparent. The three look rather surprised.

Servo heals Naomi with his healing box (she heals up but appears to be in a coma), Blitz, Cronos and Avenger attack the three people, the insectoid man and woman are easily knocked out but the first man is very resistant. He tells us that "Eisenwolf will make you pay for your actions". Eventually he uses his flaming eyes to attack us all but apart from the flash attack on John Doe, Avenger and Blitz, making John Does bubble a little, and burning Avengers trousers, he is ineffective. Servo hits him and he slumps to the floor.

Blitz tells us he recognises the name Eisenwolf (Iron Wolf), he was a fairly high ranked Nazi, in the Wehrmacht, called Gerhardt Spregan, an Aryan type, who experimented on people in concentration camps, he disappeared after the war. We look around us, and discover we are in the Lloyds building, smoke rises from two areas, there is a huge crater by the river, lots of bridges are gone and the Canary Wharf tower has gone. There are trees covering all the low ground, about two floors tall, and ivy growing up and down the buildings about ten floors. There are broken windows everywhere and signs of fire, and of gunfire. John Doe transforms into a bird and goes out to explore. Truth and Cronos go and explore the building, Avenger frisks the three black clothed people.

Avenger finds knifes, first aid kit, jewellery, lighters, rations and water bottles, he also takes the flaming eyed mans trousers. Cronos finds some very old skeletons in one room. Truth goes down to the base of the building and finds that the streets are totally covered by trees who's roots wrap around a huge amount of bones, she also finds that only the four scents (of Naomi and the other three) have entered the building for some time.

John Doe returns and tells us that there are no signs of life apart from birds and small animals (like voles) and two groups of people. On group is in the Westminster area (they are flying a Nazi-style swastika flag), and a second group in Wembley stadium flying a large, crude, Union Jack. There are signs of agriculture around both sites. There are signs of battle across the city, and the water filled crater is where the tunnels forming the Viper base we had just discovered would intersect the South Bank of the Thames. At Canary Wharf, the tower is gone. It has obviously not fallen over (no rubble) - there is an overgrown flat area the size of the tower, with deep tapering water-filled triangular pits at the four corners. UFO's still pass in the sky.

We all discuss what to do as Naomi shows no signs of waking up. John Doe uses his genetic-code analysing ability to analyse Naomi, the three prisoners, and Cronos. The semi-transparent woman and the insectoid man have no major powers (the man can track by scent); the flaming-eyed man has some. John Does tries to imitate Naiomi's powers and just contorts himself horribly. He does notice that the insectoid mans abilities seem overlaid on his genes somehow, not natural abilities - like the Brigadier, he realises. Truth speculates the man in the tank she found in the Viper base was having this done.

The first thing decided on is to go to Avenger's house and get some arms, and more importantly power packs (for Noesis and Servo) he stored under his floor boards. When we get there we find his house burned and overgrown, but also that they are all gone - the floor shows old signs of having been dug up. We then go to Servo's secret bunker at Colmar Technology (Servo's company). He finds some power packs and rigs up a small generator to charge them. Skeletons are piled up outside the door to Servo's bunker, as if they were trying to get in but died there. We then go to Professor Barker's house. The house is very overgrown and the ant colony has taken over, they have eaten everything, including Professor Barker. No power packs are found and none of the nutrients that Noesis needs are discovered.

It is decided to try to wake up Naomi, but she stops breathing after John Doe injects her with 'adrenalin'. Servo resuscitates her, but she does not wake up. We then wake up the semi-transparent woman. Avenger promises her her life if she talks. She seems surprised not to have been killed out of hand, and talks. She tells us her name is Helga. She, Fireflash and Helmut (the insectoid man) were tracking a renegade intruder. The year is 2038, she is 18 and she works for Eisenwolf, the group at Wembley are lead by the Sergeant (we think this may be Avenger, because that is the name he prefers to be called). She tells us that her group, the New Reich, is 200 strong, and that Eisenwolf makes some of the people 'gifted' - there are 'nearly 15' gifted in the Reich. Avenger and Blitz try to convince her that Eisenwolf is evil, she does not seem totally convinced.

We decide that our next move is to visit the Wembley group. After some discussion, with Avenger wanting to kill the other two prisoners and Blitz pointing out they're just victims of their upbringing, we take the three to Canvey island some way from London so they cannot get back (at least for some time) and set off for Wembley. It is getting dark by this point.
