The grenades are detonated and launched. Blitz, Servo and Cronos quickly deal with three of the grenades. Noesis decides to save himself, so releases the telekinetic hold on the dead man's switch and the guns of the Viper agents, and puts up his force field. The Viper leader starts making for the door. The two remaining grenades go off, taking out some consoles, one Viper agent and several hostages. Blitz hits the Viper leader with an energy blast and he drops the dead man's switch. A click is heard followed by a huge explosion. The building shakes and windows are blown out all over the place.
Avenger and Truth are in the cafeteria, when the explosion occurs, they then hear blaster fire from the front of the building. They both run in that direction, Avenger out the window and Truth through the wall.
Back in the control room the scene, Noesis comes round, Blitz is out cold, Cronos is bleeding badly and Servo is staggering around the room rather stunned. The Viper agents and hostages are all either dead or seriously injured.
Avenger and Truth arrive at the front of the building. The turreted Viper trucks are firing on the Barrier machinery. Truth runs straight at the first truck, they fire on her but the shots pass through her as she is gaseous, she goes into the first truck and distracts the two men inside, stopping them firing. There is a shadowy figure on one of the monitors who is giving the orders, he has a slight German accent. Avenger uses the first truck as cover and attacks the second truck.
In the control room, Noesis finds a hostage with a very interesting head injury and decides to do some brain surgery. Servo has recovered and starts doing first aid on the surviving hostages. Cronos is healing in record time. Blitz starts to come round. Suddenly by the door a girl is seen. She is dressed extremely shabbily and carries a rucksack machete and bow and arrows, she looks panic stricken. She opens her mouth as if to speak and disappears. Noesis decides this is a threat and stops surgery and turns on his force field. The others continue assisting the survivors.
Avenger soon deals with the driver of the second van. He then notices that the Viper agents on the Barrier are jumping into the river, Avenger starts the truck and drives towards the river. Avenger hears someone behind him in the truck but before he reacts he is shot. He still drives at the river and goes through the river wall, hitting two more Viper agents in the water, trapping them under the vehicle.
Blitz has examined the consoles and decides that the engineer Smyth is needed. Blitz flies out of the building and picks up Smyth who is with the police, surrounding the building or who they had met on arrival. Noesis decides to continue the brain surgery as long as Cronos watches out for the woman, Cronos agrees. He looks puzzled as he pokes about where the woman appeared.
Truth continues harassing the occupants of the first truck. The shadowy figure tells them to "go to Plan Omega you fools", and the man in the truck presses a button, Random Fire is initiated. The truck fires on a warehouse and then on Blitz as he flies past. The driver of the van starts the engine and starts making for the river.
Blitz returns to the control room with the engineer, Servo and Cronos assist Smyth. The STOP beepers go off "VIPER ARE LOOTING CENTRAL LONDON, PLEASE ASSIST". Blitz flies off to help and Noesis soon follows after finishing his surgery.
Avenger starts to get out of the truck, he tries firing at one the agents trapped under the van and breaking the windscreen, however only a small hole is made and bloody water squirts into Avengers face, he opens the window and starts climbing out. As he looks up he sees the other van driving over the edge straight at him. He gets back into the truck. Truth stays with the van as it goes over the edge, and seeing Viper agents disappearing into the water follows them. Avenger tries to follow the Viper agents but is hampered by the mucky water of the Thames. Truth soon finds a large vehicle a cross between a submarine and a hovercraft, she locates a control room, air locks, passenger apartments (which she leaves hastily when a Viper Commander pulls out a strange looking gun) and the engine room. Truth then goes back to the surface and informs STOP about the vehicle. Avenger wants to see the submarine, so Truth shows him. Unfortunately they are fired on and Avenger is knocked out and starts drowning, Truth rescues him. When they get to the water surface they are met by police boats. They are picked up and the police take them up river towards the City.
Blitz and Noesis fly over the City, they see that the police are organising evacuation of the City Northwards away from the river and seem to be keeping a major road clear with roadblocks or a few vans. Noesis also notices a Viper van parked outside the Lloyds building. Blitz blasts the roof off the van, Noesis then sees another van, he breaks the gun then turns the van over onto a Viper agent. Blitz then tries blasting the building and flying in the blast hole, unfortunately the blast is badly aimed and it blasts back at him knocking him out. Noesis pulls him back into safety.
Avenger and Truth are taken towards the City, they see several helicopters fly overhead. The helicopters have torpedoes and fly past the barrier and start hovering, they lower something towards the water. The police drop Avenger and Truth at Tower Bridge and they both run towards the Lloyds building, Truth takes the short cut of running through the buildings.
Blitz and Noesis battle with the Viper agents and eventually get into the building and defeat the agents there. Avenger and Truth also soon locate some Viper men in the next bank and the Viper men are totally frazzed. When they all go outside the remaining Viper trucks have gone. Then a Viper truck is spotted passing the end of the street, a second and third truck soon follow. Blitz, Avenger and Truth tie up the prisoners while Noesis follows the vans. After the prisoners are secured Blitz, Avenger and Truth also follow in the direction the trucks went. The trucks reach the street the police have cordoned off, do handbrake turns onto it (retracting their roof mounted blasters) and drive down it (Northwards), in full sight of the police officers holding the road open, who watch as the vans appear and drive off. Noesis spots the trucks driving into a large articulated lorry marked HILLSBOROUGH ROAD TRANSPORT PLC. Noesis goes to the nearest policeman and tells him this, as the lorry enters the masses of traffic being evacuated.
Blitz, Avenger and Truth are passing over the police cordoned area and Truth spots four winged Viper agents on the roof of the buildings, suddenly a stream of glass is seen it flows over the building and lands in the street, forming a figure made of broken glass. Breaking Glass says in very Sloane voice "OK you lot, leave here now, OK Yah." Blitz blasts her, Avenger selects a gun and Truth goes to see if there is anything of interest in the surrounding buildings.
Blitz hits Breaking Glass, and Avenger shoots her. She signals to the winged men to attack. The four winged agents attack with blasters and Breaking Glass attacks Avenger. Blitz tries flying up behind them and blasting them unfortunately he fires on a chimney. Avenger's bio-disruptor gun jams!!! he then is hit by several blasters and is stunned. Blitz hits another chimney, Noesis arrives on the scene and ego attacks Breaking Glass, she screams and shouts retreat. Truth finds nothing of interest and emerges from the buildings. Blitz finally blasts one of the Viper men and they fall from the sky. Noesis swats another winged man, and Blitz hits a third. Breaking Glass and the fourth agent gets away.
Noesis tells the others about the lorry and they all go to assist the police. When they find the lorry it is at the side of the road, empty and the police have vanished. Suddenly a number of cars go flying and four man hole covers open. Four mechanical spidery things emerge they say "THE DAY OF THE LIVING ORGANISMS IS OVER. YOU HAVE EVOLVED SUFFICIENTLY TO PRODUCE US, AND NOW YOU ARE OBSOLETE. YOU WILL BE SWEPT ASIDE BY YOUR SUPERIORS. PREPARE TO DIE, ORGANIC LIFE FORMS".
