An Experimental Everway Game

This game was essentially an experiment to see how well the Everway system would work for a superheroes game. I had this thought following comments from some of my players about the slowness of combat in Champions, even when using the damage table, and after using Everway for the Fortress Malendrad game.

From looking at the Everway system it did seem quite well suited for the task. And so the idea of a superheroes game set my London Champions universe (to reduce my work providing a background), but in a part of the world where the London Champions party were unlikely ever to go. So, I chose to run a game set in Moscow, using my own modified version of the Everway system. I also chose Moscow because it is a location which seems very rarely visited in the comic books, and which, in these post-Communist days, is certainly a location with lots of potential for superheroic adventures...

I know I was only running the game as an experiment, but it turns out that it was sufficiently enjoyable to justify further campaign segments...

In the course of preparing for this game, I came across several pages which were useful in providing Russian and other names. For Russian names go here or here; for Afghan names go here.

For more information on Moscow, go to Yahoo!'s Moscow Links Page or the Moscow City pages. Or, for more general information go to the Rough Guides on the Internet. Also go here for some maps of Russia and other parts of the former USSR.
