'A NIGHT AT THE THEATRE'

Well, that was definitely the most interesting theatre trip I've had in quite some time. I like to visit Rebma, although Inigo's dislike of the place stops me going quite as much as I might. The performance was definitely interesting on its own merits. Lightening from the audience and chaosites in the cast certainly livened it up even further!

It's certainly ... enlightening to find out such interesting facts about the family history. However, I find it slightly alarming to realise how little I actually know of the finer details of the family history. Arran, on the other hand, seems to know far too much which he is unwilling to share, and what he does share he relates as if his listeners are idiots. Something for him to remedy in the future, I think. It would help the rest of us if we had histories more accurate than Corwins ramblings; perhaps the suppressed book Arran wrote would fill that need.

Brady. A cousin from Chaos, apparently the son of Osric. He was definitely ... interesting. Who knows what could have happened if he hadn't turned out to be a cat hater. Ah well, he'll never know what he might have missed. I hope he and Sal are very happy together. If he avoids irritating Benedict, and stays out of Fionas way that is. I was quite impressed by how simply Arran dropped him into a heap of trouble with her. Maybe next time Brady will keep his mouth more under control. I'm surprised he expected his play to be shown without any problems, even if he did wait a few years after Oberons death to do so. Just because Random isn't Oberon doesn't mean he's going to let just anyone put on plays about the family after all!

Before this affair, I didn't think I had too much in common with Zenobia; she always seemed a little too dour, principled and stuffy for my tastes. However, when we were thrust together by the events starting in the theatre, it turned out hat we had much more in common than I'd suspected. I must spend some more time with her in the future. Khortez also seemed his usual fairly sensible self. It would seem that we children of Deirdre could be a significant faction among the younger generation in future. Good.

I don't think Tony really fits in in Amber. He seems too ... naive, and too unthinking, for his own good. Ah well, perhaps that will change with time, hopefully before he gets too badly used by someone here. Hopefully he'll also get to walk the Pattern - I was shocked to find that he hadn't. Sallaghmor, however, fits in very well. Violent, arrogant, secretive. All the right qualities for a prince of Amber. Pity they make him so unlikeable. The though occurs that Sal would probably make a good villain on Gotham, should I ever be stupid enough to let him stay there for any length of time.

To wander into an Amber urban myth was definitely a high point of the entire affair. I never really thought much of the stories of the Hall of mirrors. Then Sal called me in after Morgalin disappeared, and I found myself in it. I never got the chance to explore as much I would have liked to; Delwin appeared and started making demands before I had a chance. Oh well, maybe next time, assuming there is some way to get in and out without having to rely on Delwin. A pity Morgalin turned out to be Delwins son. A pity for Morgalin that is - I would suspect he's going to be trusted a lot less now, especially after Delwin mind controlled him.

I was slightly disappointed that Random didn't explain anything that occurred. What Brady's ring was, and why Delwin wanted it so much. I suppose I shouldn't have expected anything else from an Elder really, but it does get frustrating at times. Oh well, hopefully the next opening night in Rebma will prove as interesting as the last one!
