AMBER : STUFF

I consider Stuff to essentially be another statistic, with its range limited from +5 to -5. I also consider it to be something separate from Advancement Points, so that ones Stuff does not fluctuate as one saves up points or spends them (unless one wants to change ones Stuff level as time goes by, of course, by spending points on it or pulling them out of it into other things).

I also do not consider Stuff to control how NPC's react to a character, or how perceptive they are. The former I consider to be mainly a role-played thing; the latter depends far more on things such as a character's Psyche and/or Warfare ranking. I play Stuff as simply the characters luck, and that alone. I consider this to be more reasonable - after all otherwise the Bad Stuff NPC's would never be able to recruit competent henchmen (they'd never go along with what he wanted) and they'd always be missing vital flaws in their schemes due to a lack of perception.

Lastly, I attempt to play Stuff (Bad Stuff especially) as something which affects the character possessing it only, not as something which will affect the whole party. This hopefully makes the possession of Bad Stuff (for example) something which screws up the character, not the party.
