ERNST'S TRUMP DECK
The Trumps which Ernst either carries, or which she has produced and which are now elsewhere.
- Standard Amber Deck.
- Among trees in a small, quiet park in Amber city.
- Two of Reichsherz (a back alley in Berlin, fairly clean, with a road at the end, a park beyond and huge skyscrapers rising up beyond that; the edge of a von Shrackenberg hunting preserve, at the edge of a wood, about a mile from a village).
- An idyllic, totally uninhabited, health-enhancing fast time shadow (a clearing in a wood, with a pond, small waterfall and overhanging trees).
- A few high-magic shadows of different tech levels where she tried for a cure, all with fundamentally different types of magic and an Aryan-type population :
Medina
- A matriarchal, low-tech semi-Arabic shadow, where magic is used to create specialised slaves etc.
- Trump : a quiet alley in a residential district.
Tethys
- A shadow of infinite open ocean where humans live on/in huge turtle and sea serpent-like creatures and travel about in magical aircraft or trained flying reptiles due to the danger of the seas; other than this technology is aproximately medieval. Magic is used to create mer-people etc.
- Trump : a clump of parasitic trees/anemones on the back of a 'turtle', near a citadel.
Oriana
- A Victorian-like shadow where magic is confined to the rich and is studied by both sexes. 'Cosmetic' and deeper transform magic is quite common among the rich, including sex changes.
- Trump : A clump of trees in a city park.
Foil
- A Faerie shadow, where transform magics are commonly used by the Faerie there.
- Trump : a Faerie ring outside the edge of a wood.
Tellurus
- A high-tech (interplanetary) spacegoing shadow, where magical technology is common, and magic is used to transform and enhance people to perform specialist tasks.
- Trump : A copse of trees in a park in a large cylindrical orbital habitat - windows and the curvature of the cylinder can be seen in the background.
Boreus
- A medieval tech level shadow, half water and half air, infinite in all directions, with lots of suns which circulate above and below the water. Ice forms where suns move away; water boils where they're in water or close to it. Cities build on/in the ice; magic keeps ice solid if it gets warm, and changes people to take the cold etc. People Eskimo-like.
- Trump : a dimly lit ice field.
All Ernsts Trumps are kept in two separate books (similar to those used to hold credit cards, though with gaps to allow physical contact with the Trumps) : 'people' and 'places'. The books are arranged in such a way that the Trumps can also be fanned out to be used in Trump Identification. A Trump of herself is kept separate from either of these packs.
In her rooms are also two Trump paintings, one to the idyllic shadow described above (in the bedroom), and one to Boreus (in the study).
