This game was one in which what the world thought of as superpowers were actually intrinsic magical powers. The mythical age of human prehistory was the last time magic was strong, and it was ended by the use of a powerful anti-magical ritual. Magical beings either coped with their loss of power, died, or fled to other dimensions. Some of the ancient magic users survived this low-magic period and were eventually able to undo the ritual and bring the magic back with themselves as the leaders of the DEMON organisation. As the world began to fall into superhuman-induced chaos, Europe founded the ASH (Anti-SuperHuman) organisation to recruit superhumans to protect and preserve the modern world. In this they were, eventually, successful, but at great cost...

Background

Panzerlilly was found as a baby on the slopes of Mount Egmont near New Plymouth on the North Island of New Zealand November 27th 1987 by the Montgomerys, a rich, childless, fairly old New Zealander couple. Although investigations were made no trace of her origins or how she ended up on the mountainside were ever discovered. For reasons of their own the Montgomerys took her in and raised the strange black-furred, golden eyed cat-creature as their own child, naming her Lillian and using their money to ensure their adoption of her. They loved the child despite her somewhat animalistic behaviour and a few initial problems, such as when she started hunting sheep and other animals (which they eventually managed to train her out of). The child grew astonishingly quickly, reaching what appears to be physical and mental maturity after about four and a half years. However, despite the Montgomerys best efforts Lillian still retains many animal-like traits. Lillian was kept out of school after a few bad experiences with other children when she was very small and instead she was educated at home by a private (and highly paid) tutor who fed her curiosity about the world. Once or twice as she grew up people later identified as Merlin agents attempted to kidnap Lillian, but the Montgomerys were always able to get the New Zealand police and military there in time to save her (they moved after these incidents). After the more recent of these incidents, when she was grown, the New Zealand government tried to recruit her into their security forces, but being selfish Lillian never saw any reason why she should put herself out for them, and refused. She and her parents led a secluded life; the New Zealand government helped to keep her existence quiet as they wanted to avoid any proliferation of superhumans in New Zealand - in other countries where superhumans had gone public more always seemed to turn up and cause trouble... Despite this Lillian is fully aware of the outside world and a lot of what goes on in it via books and TV.

Very recently Viper turned up and attempted to kill Lillian. She survived their attack, but her parents were cut down in the crossfire. This incident did not really get into the news as the New Zealand government kept it quiet, but it changed Lillian greatly - before she was fairly nice, even if somewhat selfish; now she is much more likely to hurt people and has no problems about killing. Lillian decided to join ASH, as they seem to be the only organisation in the world who have much of a hope of finding Viper - she wants to use ASH to help with her own vengeance. Lillian is also fairly rich now as she has inherited the Montgomerys considerable fortune. She has decided on the nom de guerre of Panzerlilly for herself.

For some reason Lillian is unable to even conceive of the concept of the lie - this means that in addition to being unable to lie herself (although she may just stay silent) she will not realise when people are lying to her - if it later turns out that they said something false she will think they were mistaken rather than trying to mislead her. Because of this there are a number of aspects of her behaviour which seem strange to people who dont know about it : she doesnt hide her emotions; she doesnt read (or understand the concept of) fiction; she wont thank people or say please unless she means it; she generally wont say things like 'good morning' unless its to someone she cares about.

Panzerlilly perished when she swore on her magic to do nothing to hinder the escape of a powerful supervillain who had her at his mercy, then went back on her word and died in agony as the magic turned against her...

She was replaced by Cháng Bì (Long Arm).

Appearance

Lillian is a black-furred golden-eyed cat-woman, 5'2" tall and 90lbs in weight with a very slim, wiry build. She has a non-prehensile tail, claws and a mane of hair. She is left handed. Her facial features are somewhat bestial and she has pointed ears. She has three fingers and a thumb on each hand. Her legs and feet are more cat-like than human and she walks on her toes with elongated feet (each with three toes) forming third, lowest, joints in her legs. Both her fingers and toes have retractile claws which appear to be made of some golden metal. From tests in her childhood it is known that biologically she is not at all human; for example her blood appears to consist of two immiscible fluids - one red like normal blood, and one metallic gold (the same shade as her claws). Although Lillian generally does not need or wear clothing, when it is necessary for her to carry money or small items she uses a small leather pouch worn on a thong around her neck.

She looks much the same as the DC comics character Pantha, though a different colour and without the costume.

Later Discoveries

Lilly has discovered that she is apparently a member of the Cait-Shee race. Other members of her race live in a forest on another plane. They are (according to a dwarf, Grinthar Stone) blood-thirsty maniacal savages with no civilisation; they did built city once but they burnt it down. They have no culture and no history. They are very territorial and react unconsciously and combatatively to territorial infringements. Like humans they are divided into two types - mages and much weaker non-mages; Lilly is of the mage type. Mages rule - their word is law. Linear B is considered the Mage tongue. Lifespan is 50 to 60 years, but unaging Cait-Shee are known.

The King of the Elves thought it possible that Lilly was from a family which fell out of favour; they were killed and their baby (Lilly) was sent to a plane of no return i.e. a non-magical plane, like Earth was, to remove it as a threat. Lilly was not happy with this idea.
