Keith Forrester was born to a poor north London family. He has a younger brother, Kevin, who it turns out is the super-villain Aggro.
Keith was always a scrapper, and he joined the Army as soon as he was old enough.
He fought in the Falklands conflict in 1982, and it was here that he was critically injured in an Argentine attack. However, lying alone on the battlefield, he did not die but somehow was able to keep going, with his wounds healing within two minutes.
He kept this secret from everyone, but even so, his captain came to know his secret. However, he agreed with Kevin to keep it secret.
When the war was over, Kevin returned to the UK, and mustered out of the Army. However, his experiences meant that he was unable to cope with life in normal society, so he was given accommodation in a veterans hospice in Richmond, where he lived until the end.
After a while, he decided to do something about all the social problems he saw around him. He obtained some classified military hardware from a contact of his in the Army, and took on the costumed identity of Avenger to fight crime.
Because of his ... uncompromising ... crime fighting techniques, he was quickly wanted by the Police for murder, manslaughter, assault, GBH and many other crimes. He didn' let that stop him, and has remained at large. The Police do hunt him, but because he has, on many occasions, risked himself to save police officers and firemen, as well as bringing highly wanted people to justice, they do not hunt him very hard.
He was the only member of the London Knights who was not invited to work with STOP, but still did good work until the group were kidnapped by the Brood.
Like the other members of the London Knights, he was infected by the Brood, with a Queen egg growing inside him. Unfortunately, he was the first to turn into a Brood, while the Brood were boarding the flying saucer the group had taken. He was quickly defeated by the group, but released into space, in stasis, by the Caretakers, on a course back to the position of the Brood world. 'His' current whereabouts and status are unknown.
