I am sort of regretting my turning into demon form, now, after the reactions of Rayner, Willhelm and Jason to it. I had hoped they might not be too bothered. Suppose there's a difference between my telling them I'm a shapeshifter and their seeing it, especially as it's my nastiest form. Well, I had to do it - we were maybe about to go into combat! And in no way was I going to fight in this unknown place in any other shape. So maybe it was for the best - at least this way they've got a chance to get used to it for at least a little while. But I still wish their first reactions hadn't been so negative.
And is seems Rayner was right - it really is a convention - there were another two Amberites in the cell we arrived in - Orm and Azaria. Orm was hurt and said little Azaria seems all right so far. At least she didn't reacted much better to my demon form than the others. Maybe we'll be friends.
Apparently she's the daughter of one of the female elders. Which one? Deirdre? Flora? Fiona? Llewella? She can't be Llewella's daughter too, can she? I hope not. I might have to hate her if so.
Wish I knew why my pistol changed like that. Was it something Bleys did? Or coming here? Does it still work? Does it work better? Only one way to find out, I suppose...
