I feel a bit embarrassed about how I reacted when Rayner gave me those three Trumps of Gerard, Amber and Llewella, but - Oh! - how long has it been since someone was that generous to me, unasked for and with no strings attached? Perhaps coming into the family of Amber won't be so bad after all. I hope.
I suppose knowing Llewella doesn't necessarily mean she's my birth-mother (for want of a better phrase). Maybe she came to Timashkurabad for other reasons, and our paths crossing were only chance. I'll ask her. But there is Bleys too. Hmmm. We'll see.
Does my being a shapeshifter mean my birth-father is one of these 'demonic chaosites' Rayner mentioned? Or are there other shapeshifters out in these 'shadows'? Perhaps anyone can learn it, with the right teacher? I don't know. Maybe Llewella will tell me that, too...
