Outside Wulf Security HQ.

General Winter is not dead, just horribly injured by Napalm and in the care of one of the ambulance crews who turned up at the Wulf Security compound with the police.

In the basement of the mansion the bit of Mirov there comes around. Only about ten seconds have passed since Tungsten stunned it. "They have gone to the sewers," says another bit of him, outside near the rest of the party.

Outside, Nut is sitting on the unconscious Napalm, ready to throttle her if her mind shows any signs of wanting to kill them all, or of not being the real Napalm. Napalm comes round, with full memories of what happened and a big headache. Her attacking the rest of the group seems like something she was spectating on, rather than something she did. Nut looks at her intensely for a moment - and then lets her go. She repeats Mirov's "they are in the sewers" message.

Mirov goes down into the sewer in rocket form. A nose on the front senses the direction Tungsten and December have fled in. He follows.

Nut leads Napalm and Akula down to the basement and into the sewer, lead in turn by a bit of Mirov. Napalm bursts into flame. The Mirov part leads them off in the correct direction.

Before too long the rocket-propelled part of Mirov sees a couple of figures ahead lit up by a torch one of them is carrying - a black metal woman (carrying a torch) and a tiger. They have gone quite a long way - further than they would have a normal human running speed. Mirov flashes past them at speed and then plugs the sewer ahead of them with a three metre thick plug of solid tungsten. Then he drops off sentient parts of him on both side of the plug and abandons the plug itself.

Nut slows down so she drops to the back of the group and makes the area around her even darker than it already is (Tungsten has a torch and Napalm is a torch) so that, behind the light given off by Napalm she is effectively invisible.

Tungsten says something, probably a swear word, in a language we don't understand or even recognise. She pounds at the plug with her fists. It rings with the impact but is not even dented - Tungsten is very strong, but the plug is three metres of solid, hard metal!

Mirov makes a mental note to unplug the Moscow sewer after this is all over.

Akula accelerates down the tunnel having heard the reports from Mirov and being able to hear the echo of Tungsten's efforts to remove the plug. Napalm starts to glow brighter and brighter as they race down the tunnel, building up a big fire blast. Akula adjusts his speed to remain behind Napalm! Sensible.

The other figure in the tunnel, December (the tiger), looks around and growls some badly mangled words to Tungsten as Akula, Napalm and Nut approach. Tungsten turns to face them. Napalm launches the large fire blast she has been building up. Tungsten and the tiger start to rush forwards, the tiger attempting to hide behind Tungsten. The flame blast washes over Tungsten, who makes no attempt to dodge, and over the tiger, December, as well. The tiger yowls in pain.

Napalm uses her control of flame to keep the space Mirov has sealed off full of fire.

Mirov grows another plug of tungsten, filling the sewer ahead of Tungsten and December. He grows a giant piston/ram which fills most of the sewer on the side where the villains are, and starts battering away at Tungsten with it. Tungsten starts hammering away at the walls of the sewer, cracking them, so Mirov starts to cover the walls in tungsten too, gradually increasing the thickness. Tungsten tears through the first layer of wall so Mirov makes a second tungsten wall on the outside of the sewer walls, some distance in and makes it grow thicker.

Nut and Akula stand by and watch, then leave the scene in Mirov and Napalm's capable hands, heading back along the sewer for the burning mansion.

Tungsten swears again as she gets to the new, outer, wall, which is by now too thick for her to quickly break through. The tiger is very badly burned by now - it is healing very quickly but the intense flame all around it is killing it.

Mirov suggests Napalm turn down the heat. Napalm is not so keen. She quotes her canoe headed monster friends, having been recently mind controlled and our previous lack of ability to retain these prisoners as reasons for just finishing them off now. Mirov takes things into his own 'hands' and isolates both the Tiger and Tungsten from the flames.

Napalm, hearing that Akula wants to put out the house fire using his water powers, zooms off to do so herself.

Nut enters the house and starts to look around. The basement is mostly storeroom except for a sealed bank-vault-like security door. Nut leaves the basement on the basis that it will survive, but the rest of the house is burning down.

Upstairs, the ground floor is divided into barracks, a couple of indoor firing ranges where blaster rifles have been used, communal living areas, bathrooms, showers, a kitchen a gymnasium and lots of telephones (none having a last number re-dial facility, unfortunately).

Napalm arrives, flying up out of the sewer and absorbing all of the flames instantly. She feels good from all this extra flame.

There are various injured Viper agents by the broken vans, getting themselves in order and starting to escape. Akula paralyses them all with his energy blast. They stop escaping.

On the first floor, Nut finds more barracks and communal living quarters in one half of the floor, plus eight sets of individual living quarters in the other half. All the individual rooms show signs of recent habitation and recent quick exodus. They do not show signs of being the rooms of super villains.

In the sewer, Mirov uses the part of himself on the far side of his first plug to confirm that no one else has passed this point. He starts constructing a mechanism to raise the whole Tungsten/December sarcophagus to the surface. Eyes on stalks poking up through the ground surface confirm that if he goes straight up he will rise in the middle of a busy street during rush hour - Kashirskoe Shosse - one of Moscow's major radial roads. Mirov selects the central reservation and aims the sarcophagus at it, rebuilding the sewer as he leaves it and filling in the hole he leaves behind with rubble, to avoid later collapses.

Tungsten is still hammering away inside the sarcophagus. Mirov can take it, but can tell that if he was not constantly regenerating the metal she would break out. The tiger is healed now, but still unconscious.

The police are waiting outside the Wulf Security compound, waiting for the signal from the Moscow Superheroes to enter.

Ostranko phones Akula and asks if he wants them to enter. Akula says yes, so they move in.

Napalm flies around the outside of the Wulf Security mansion, looking in.

Nut goes upstairs to the next floor. At one end of this floor is a really big suite of rooms. Leading off from the corridor to it are six other, large rooms with en suite bathrooms and the like.

The first room in the suite at the end of the corridor contains a desk with a computer on it. Two walls are lined with bookshelves holding lots of medical looking books and bound sets of journals. Above the fireplace on another wall there is a large blueprint of a canoe headed monster! The monster does not have a helmet on and its five heads are Stalin, Lenin, Gorbachev, Yeltsin and Glasnost (the super hero).

The other rooms in the suite are a bedroom and a bathroom.

Nut leaves the largest room and searches the other six rooms along the corridor outside. They consist of:

The other half of upstairs is more individual rooms, recently occupied and recently abandoned, like those downstairs.

Mirov has dug his way out of the ground in the central reservation of nearby Kashirskoe Shosse. As the 'sarcophagus' emerges from the ground cars screech to a halt as their drivers notice it. Two police cars turn up and stop. The police ask him what he is doing. He tells them he has contained Tungsten and December. The police say that they will be standing by to assist - some way off, that is.

Napalm sees Nut in the top floor rooms as she circles the building and goes in through a window. She notices that most of the various rooms (not the one with the African photos or the one with the disco ball) have a mini-bar and a fridge in them. She empties these and then checks out the military uniforms Nut found. She recognises them as those of a Spetznatz Colonel, with ribbons for service in Afghanistan, on the Chinese border, and other places. She spits on the uniform.

Akula hands his prisoners over to the police as they arrive and enters the house. He investigates the basement and finds the sealed room. He tries to trickle under the door, but although there is a opening between the door and the frame it is sealed a little way in and there is no gap that leads inside at all. He can hear the sounds of generators and electrical machinery from inside. He contacts Mirov who sends a bit of himself into the basement. Mirov examines the swipe card opening mechanism, then realises it will take him a long time to try all the combination, so he slides into the gap between the door and the frame and starts to force the door open.

Napalm and Nut start packing backpacks full of anything they consider useful/saleable - clothes and the like, mainly. They decide to leave the doctor's computer.

Akula starts looking around downstairs. He finds, a room full of Viper uniforms, a food store (a big walk-in freezer), a gun store which is partly empty, a wine cellar, and a communications room with lots of telecommunications cables running through it and some computer equipment. Akula checks out the computers - they all seem to be wiped clean. He also finds a storeroom of medical equipment and chemicals - everything in there dated in the last six months.

Back at the vault door, Mirov manages to force his way into the gap, and levers it open a tiny amount. He pokes a tentacle through and finds an airlock the other side. It seems to be like the entrance to a clean room, with clean room suits hanging to one side. Another door on the far side, this one with a window, leads into a medical lab as Mirov discovers when he looks through. Inside there are prison-like human-sized cages along one wall with bunk beds. A huge medical table in the centre of the room with five smaller ones around it. Large tanks with bubbling liquid in them. And two doors going out on the far side.

Mirov calls Akula in, who puddles through the gap. There is a panel to open the inner door, but no swipe card system here. Akula pushes the button, the door opens and they go into the medical room. Everything is spotlessly clean. As they look around inside, they see a big floor-to-ceiling door in the same wall as the door they entered through - truck size. Mirov forces the door open, revealing a truck sized tunnel which leads towards the mansion's separate garage block. They follow it, and find it leads to a lift that would let vans go up and down from inside the garage block to the lab.

No complete monsters are found, but bits of organs and the like are bubbling away in the tanks.

Napalm flies off with the bags of loot and stashes it in one off her stores for selling when necessary. The next time she needs a drink, that is.

Some police arrive upstairs; Nut shows them around what she has found:

The police stare at the jewellery decked about on Nut but don't feel they can say anything. Nut nips downstairs.

Back on the central reservation of Kashirskoe Shosse, Mirov encases Tungsten in a solid block of Tungsten, leaving only her head exposed. He wraps the tiger up like a mummy in strong rope and hands them both over to the police. He puts them both onto the back of the police low-loader lorry which has just arrived. Mirov doesn't like the idea off leaving Tungsten imprisoned in tungsten forever but can think of no alternative. It sounds like Tungsten swears at Mirov again, although he doesn't understand the language or words.

Napalm stashes the loot and heads back.

Nut arrives in the basement. Mirov opens the door to the lab, and Nut wanders around but finds nothing worth taking. The police arrive downstairs and look around the medical centre. Of the two rooms still to be checked they find one room contains a generator plus several barrel-sized power cells - about as big as they come. The other is an office. Akula starts up the computer there but is unable to get past the password.

Outside, police are cordoning off the area Napalm notices as she arrives back.

Suddenly, Solstice appears hovering in the middle of the room. "This is only a setback, you know," she says. Nut cans sense her mind to one side of her image and puts darkness all around. "Ouch, that hurts," she says not at all convincingly. Mirov seals the room again - with himself this time. We don't know where she is, but the image of her is definitely not the real Solstice.

Solstice repeats her earlier commitment not to build any more monsters. We repeat our commitment to hunt them down whenever they commit crimes. Nut asks about their infiltration of the Red Army.

"We do not need to infiltrate your army," says Solstice. "There are enough disenchanted military people in your services to be recruited for the right price - they come to us!"

Mirov makes a Perspex box and gradually shrinks it towards the place where Nut says that Solstice's mind is. Solstice does not seem concerned and the box is soon encasing just the small area of space around her mind.

The general opinion is that we will all meet again. Having decided that we have nothing more to discuss Mirov turns his Perspex box into a tungsten box - he's in a tungsten kind of mood today, it seems. Nut confirms that Solstice's mind is still there. The image of Solstice is still there as well. "That is not very nice!" she says.

Solstice teases us about looting the building. She asks us to join them; they would give us plenty of 'shiny things'. We are not interested in shiny things. Well, not Akula anyway.

Nut inquires about the possibility of worshippers! Solstice thinks that something can be arranged. Nut is tempted and says she will have to get back to them. Mirov makes nine tiny little worshippers that bow down to Nut and then draw tiny little daggers and kill themselves. Solstice watches in amusement. Napalm starts on her mini bar drinks.

Napalm asks Solstice to call us on the mobile anytime. Solstice thanks her, says goodbye to us all, and disappears - image and mind together. Mirov dissolves the tungsten box.

All of our mobile phones ring at once. It is Captain Ostranko. "Where the hell have you been, we have been trying to get into contact with you!" he shouts down the phone. "We have lost contact with the low loader carrying Tungsten and the tiger and have been trying to contact you!" He passes us the last known location and we head off.

Napalm, Nut and Mirov arrive at about the same time by their respective means of transport. The low loader is there, pulled over to the side of the road, with the tungsten mould cut open. Mirov sniffs around and finds a scent trail. The trail stops suddenly though, after a little way, as if the two got into a van or something.

Akula arrives via the water system.

Some questioning ensues. The lorry drivers and other witnesses tell the same story as before when Mother Bear was escorting Tungsten - a bright flash, blinded, energy beam noises, running feet and so forth.

A TV news team arrive as we stand by the low-loader. "Moscow Super Heroes, what has been happening here?" they ask.

We tell them, taking the credit for capturing the super villains but blaming the police for losing them again. They also want to know about all the recent attacks so Nut describes what happened.

Nut, Mirov and Akula search for the missing super villains, without any success, at least for now. But Nut/Andrey has a telepathic ear to the ground...
