An Example of Converting a
Champions Character to Everway


Glasnost is a character from my Overman 1994 game who has also been incorporated into the London Champions and Moscow Superheroes universe. There is a separate page detailing his Background and History. This page is here to show how I converted Glasnost the Champions player character into Glasnost the Everway non-player character. As such, we have:

Powers and Skills
Gravity / Personal Mass Control Powers (F, V x 2, M x 5)
These allow Glasnost a variety of abilities (though he cannot do all of them at full strength at the same time):
  • Increase his Density to give himself effectively Strength 9, Toughness 9, No Knockback, 6500 kilos mass.
  • Decrease his Density to the point he can move through solid matter and be almost immune to harm (Desolidification).
  • Give a 'gravitational charge' to a being. This increases the Gravity affecting them for a while, or until they break free; Fire (Strength) 7 or less beings are immobilised by this; higher strength beings are slowed.
  • Generate a gravitational energy blast (a physical effect) which can kill beings of Earth 7 or less in one full hit, and can be spread. This does knockback.
  • Generate gravitational Telekinesis with strength as for an effective Fire of 7; this has no fine manipulation ability.
  • Use his gravitational manipulation to deflect attacks fired at him away from him, and back at the attacker if he wishes, and can also protect others at range (though without the ability to reflect the attacks).
  • Fly himself and others close to him at 200kph.
  • Generate a gravitational field which protects everyone in a 15m radius about Glasnost; physical attacks effectively have 3xM knocked off them; energy attacks have 1xM knocked off.

Healing Box (F, M)
The box heals all of a person's physical wounds when it is placed in physical contact with them, over the course of ten seconds or so, using needles which it sticks into the injured person. Note that normally Instant Regeneration costs two points; the cost of the Box is reduced both because it is quite slow (but not slow enough to be merely Rapid Healing), via a Focus, and it requires conscious effort to be used rather than being on constantly all the time.
