The Plot (Part 1)

What Was Really Going On
In Campaign Segment 1

Some time ago, a group of Afghan Mujaheddin somehow acquired the information that a Nazi 'sleeper' robot revenge weapon had been concealed near Moscow in the last days of World War II. Needless to say, they quickly decided to use this information to have their revenge on the hated Russians.

However, they did not have sufficient resources and contacts in Moscow to locate it on their own. So they made contact with some Chechen rebel fighters. Initially the Chechens hemmed and hawed, unsure as to whether this was a good idea. Then Aslan Maskhadov signed a peace deal with Boris Yeltsin. Many Chechen fighters did not agree with this, and, feeling betrayed by Maskhadov, decided to fight on. The Mujaheddin plan seemed a good way to go, so the rebel fighters agreed to ally with them. Through the rebels, contact was made with one of the more powerful Chechen Russian Mafia groups operating in Moscow. Together they would find the sleeper and have their revenge on the Russian government which had done them so much harm.

So, the Mujaheddin's two superhumans (Sirdar and Poison), along with two Chechen superhumans, WarWolf and Cricket, a bought Mafioski superhuman (Black Dog), and a group of mixed Afghan and Chechen fighters were assembled and sent to Moscow with the intention of unleashing the sleeper upon the city.

There, they linked up with the local Chechen-run Russian Mafia and, based in a Mafioski drug factory in a north Moscow tower block, started to search for clues to the location of the sleeper. While they waited, a Mafioski thug, Matvey Beodyovitch Barsan, took a fancy to Poison, and tried to have his way with her, thinking a gas mask would protect him from her powers. He was wrong, and died horribly, his body being dumped in the Moscow ship canal. Also, Cricket sneaked out to look around the city, and was seen; she was not allowed out on her own after that.

After some research, mainly by Sirdar, their first target was selected - an archive of Soviet and Nazi documents dating from the period of the Second World War, close by the Armed Forces Museum...

The Mafioski, not as powerful in this universe as they are in the real world, due to, in part, the actions of various Russian superhumans, are also intending to take advantage of the destuction caused by the Sleeper. They intend, once Moscow is destroyed, to step into the power vacuum thus created, and take over all of Russia while it reels in shock, giving themselves the power they feel they deserve...
