Originally a human man, as far as is known, over the centuries and millennia the Undying Lord has changed from this to his current form. Now he is very tall and thin - almost skeletal - with stone-hard iron-grey stone-textured skin and harsh, angular features. His eyes glow black. His voice is like iron grating on iron. His teeth are black iron, and shark-like; his fingernails are long, sharp and also of black iron. He wears undecorated black and red robes. He has a circlet-like crown and sceptre of office, both of black iron and rubies. In terms of magic, he is known to be effectively an Earth Speaker, Cloud Shaper, Forester, Artisan, Summoner, Necromancer and Farspeaker. However, it is unknown if these are the limits of his magical abilities.
The Undying Lord is at the top of his government, with absolute power. Under him is the High Council, an advisory body representing all the important factions in the Empire. Many council members head a council of the own who control things in their area(s) of influence. The Undying Lord rules by fear, and weakens his underlings by keeping them at each others throats. The Palace of the Undying Lord in the city of Umbra is the centre of the bureaucracy and of the worship of Cthon.
The Undying Lord is strongest in his citadel at the Empire's capital of Umbra, with his power decreasing steadily away from there, so he is limited in the role he can take in the world, having to rely on minions.
The Black Fist is led by The Warmaster, apparently an old man of slightly less than average height, with a lithe, wiry build, harsh features, pale skin and black-pupilled eyes. His is bald, with white eyebrows, moustache and goatee beard. In reality he is a highly powerful vampire and mage (an Artisan), well over ten thousand years old. He is polite to everyone, with a quiet voice, but still, everyone pays attention when he speaks.
